This year the London Wayfarers underwent its biggest ever umpiring course designed jointly by the club and England Hockey.
The ‘Know the Rules’ project saw 150 members take part in a Level 1 Umpiring Course across the senior and junior sections of the club over 7 separate sets of practical and classroom-based sessions at Battersea Park and Crystal Palace.
The number of parents and and juniors taking part was very encouraging.
If you did take part in a session, we would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete a very short survey to help us improve for next season.
DEADLINE for completing this is 21 April – CLICK HERE.
London Wayfarers Hockey Club has reached 1000 members this season which is a fantastic achievement.
We are looking to double the number of course participants next season as we continue with our ambitious target of all our hockey players knowing the rules of hockey.
We are also pleased that several other London hockey clubs including Hampstead & Westminster, Spencer, Tulse Hill & Dulwich and Richmond are looking to get involved with setting up courses to increase numbers across London.
Here’s to next season, and do look out for more opportunities to participate in further sessions that will be announced this summer.
