Over the past two weeks the London Wayfarers Club Awards were announced at our end of season events, the LWOD2017 and Enchanted Ball.
Below an overview of all the worthy 2017 winners of the 7th annual London Wayfarers Club Awards with new categories for the juniors.
Outstanding Contribution Award – Angela Durnin
For all her years of service to the club Ange was awarded with our most prestigious award. After receiving three consecutive Volunteer of the Year Awards and the President’s Award this could no longer be missing. Ange stepped down from the Executive Committee last season after serving as Club Treasurer for 4 years but continues to give her time and expertise to the club.
Over the past years she has performed many official and unofficial roles and given countless hours to London Wayfarers Hockey Club including Ladies 5s captain (4 seasons), Ladies section vice captain, club treasurer, junior treasurer, umpire and coaching and volunteering for the Junior section for the past four seasons both on Sundays and midweek. Ange is also a committee member of Surrey Ladies Hockey League.
The decision by the Executive Committee to award Ange the Outstanding Contribution Award was of course unanimous and she joins an illustrious list of previous winners.
